Dochuis, new stories by new makers

Dochuis is an independent production house focused on developing and producing social (investigative) journalistic and cultural documentaries and series. Together with new makers we tell undiscovered stories via regional and national (public) media in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, independently financed by broadcasters and funds. We shine our spotlights on stories that are happening right under our noses but that few people know about.

Within various projects we make various documentaries. For example, with Doclokaal we make local journalistic stories with new makers. We also focus on stories in the Caribbean part of the Netherlands with Kontraforsa. Finally, we also make individual documentaries for the NPO, among others. We encourage new talent to contact us. Producer Julian Klop

As a 10-year-old boy, I already recreated TV shows with my sister's dolls. When I was 17, I started as a reporter at the local broadcaster. During my journalism training, I did an internship at my own company where I did presentation jobs and made videos for clients such as RTL and DPG Media. In short: media has always been my great passion!


After a few years of making corporate videos with Klop Media, I chose a new direction in 2023: documentaries. I like to use my experience as a media maker and entrepreneur to help makers find their way in the film world. I teach at the Hogeschool Utrecht, coach makers in marketing their documentaries and work as a producer on the productions of Dochuis.


Giving new makers a platform And thereby helping new stories that we need to be heard into the world. That is what I stand for.
